Ms Wu Choy Peng, deputy CEO of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, called the gender perception a "myth perpetuated by the media".

"It's about different work styles of different people. To pin it on gender alone is quite meaningless. If a male boss treats a worker in a certain way, it's called 'assertive'; if a female boss does the same, she's called b*****!" she said.

YAYYY... IBM sounds like such an interesting place to work at... have thought that from the times when IBM was the case study for my Human Resource Management module in uni, til now after numerous other articles abt it... read more regarding their motivational conference where that gender thing surfaced...

was chatting with P yesterday with CC, and she was commenting how rather irritated she was that despite all the biases her mum-in-law had to go through as a girl, she still wants a grandson... :) i've commented before how I found it interesting that my experiences with gender biases is perpetuated by female not male... even P herself... excused me from a meeting by saying a young single girl like me shouldn't stay so late! LOL! yesterday, I she was talking abt kids with another mum and suddenly got pulled in by her comment that I should have kids while I'm still young... errr... but I'm still unwed...? LOL
