since the SARS period, i've gotten meself acquainted to putting in more than 12-hrs at work... have even stayed late-late into the nite (midnightish to be exact)... but never the two together such that i was in sch from 9.30am - 10.30pm!!

was in the General Office all by my lonesone self most of the time, so only found it necessary to keep light in the front on... didnt realise it was disturbing to certain pple... LOL... SD walked in at one point to ask for something which was at teh storeroom at the back of the office... since it was near the dorr and i knew exactly where it was, just needed a few seconds to retrieve it, saw no need to switch on the lights... which apparently left him so agitated!! kept saying smtg abt i shld keep the lights on so late in the night... and repeated it again, saying i was stubborn when i apparently ignored him and gave him a weird look... LOL...

i dun really mind wkg late when there's stuff to do, but all over a stubborn, bull-headed, unreceptive-to-others'-viewpoint, stuck-up lady who was unhappy why her P1 child is enjoying school so much..??! and thought it was something that should not be instilled in a child - giving him/her a skewed perception of sch, being disappointed when he/she grow up and find sch's not always so enjoyable???... (her words, not mine, she put it herself in black-n-white in an... ahem... "feedback" letter prior to this parent-teacher session)...

i'm sorry...? I'm one of those pple who enjoy NOT trying to cajole a child into class and having to spend an hour of my time trying to persuade/bribe a child, or having to attend to a child daily who mysteriously have stomachache/headache/what-nots at certain periods of the day... i doubt P1 kids have periods... especially if they are boys... :P

and worse still... this mother is a teacher??! wonder what she's been doing that her students do not enjoy school and SHE grew up believing that's the standard attitude that shld be taken...??!

from my subject coordinator, he was backed up by another teacher, and then yet another, to try to understand this mother's POV on why she thought it so wrong for the child to enjoy school! not that she's so receptive to our POV... but how self-absorbed can one be that she insisted on carrying on 45mins after everyone have left... what more "hint" can u get after announcing the school is closing, everything has been cleared up, and all other rooms in complete and utter darkness??? My security company had even called me up to check why the security alarm wasn't armed yets! plus my attendants were getting nervous and fidgety for having to stay back so long...

SIGHHHHHHHHHHH... lucky for me, daddy could pick me up... but thanks anyways SF, for taking time off your steaming and stewing it over to remember to offer me a ride home... :]
