wasvery nervous... but didn't dare/want to talk it over with anyone... P messaged the day before...
Forgot to wish you ALL THE BEST for tomorrow... Have Fun & Keep Cool!
:) isn't she such a dear... was thinking of going to get a new bag or shoes... but ended work too late and was too tired... went home to find bro & sis home... somehow didn't feel like confessing to them either... eagerly waited for them to go home so that i can iron stuff... finally decided on wearing the maroon suit i wore for my MOE-intv... may it be a lucky charm... then searched for a file and sieved thru my documents-file trying to figure out what certs they might need to check... also read thru my testimonials... was nice... :) made me miss my old teachers...
in the morning, finally decided to take it easy and take a cab... was pretty near actually (comparing home with present wkplace) but because of CBD stuff and peak-hr stuff, cab-fare was almost doubled! driver asked where to drop me... confessed to him i wasnt sure as it was my 1st time there for an intv... he was cute... asked me what other vacancies they have... :)
reported to guard-station (super lor tamruat!)... after confirming my identity from his list, the police-guy searched my bag! lucky it wasnt messy or smtg... :) then had to go to reception, go thru the metal-sensor thing, then changed my ic for the visitor's pass... i was still 1/2 early... but saw the list they checked thru... iw as the first of 6 interviewees they had...
the HR person greeted me 1st (i was right... she's a girl! couldn't quite tell from her email so had to reply as Dear Sir slash Mdm in my email...) and checked thru my certs... then gave me a handout and ushered me to another waiting area... it was like sitting for an oral exam! had a list of topics i was supposed to think over... a paternal-looking guy popped in to ask whether i was so and so... thot it was time... but he told me to sit a little longer... a bit after the assigned 9.30am, i was called in... as i suspected from seeing pple popping in & out of the meeting room they said i was to go to for interview... panel was rather large... 5 in total, 2 ladies, one's the head who was pretty intimidating... the rest were rather smiley... apparently they didnt know i was still wkg where i was... I apologised and explained that I had presumed they had gotten my details from current ministry...
interview was pretty ok... thot i did more than ok... but was rather long... as compared to 15-min long MOE interview... queried me long & hard regarding my freelancing experience as well as my work attachment with the courts, plus present work life... then did the oral part which they had asked me to prepare while waiting... was recorded down! i thot i sounded gushy and nervous actually... then afters, they continued the interview with admin matters... abt how they wld do a lateral transfer if i'm shortlisted, i dun have to resign unless current ministry have violent objections to my going... abt how feasible it would be for me to come back the following wednesday which would typically be a rather bz day at work, and they discussed a while and said they could do the test for me on a saturday then... the head-interviewer seems to be loosening a bit... actually smiled... was feeling rather optimistic too because they seemed so accomodating...
when i left the building... HAD to call someone or another... coz the job sounds terrific... i get to dabble in language, and i have the chance to travel! but the realisation of how much i REALLY wanted the job made me so darn nervous... talked to NZ... his HP actually rang! WOW! LOL! was used to just transferred to voicemail and was ready to gush to a voicemail... he seems excited for me too... but i tink was rather amused by how gushy n trembly i sounded! then managed to get hold of K... who was just as excited... they made me feel good... calmed me down a bit... NZ especially kept stressing to call him come wednesday, when THEY were supposed to get back to me whether i've been shortlisted again...
turned out, didn't have to wait so long... HR gal called me just as i was knocking off work... calling me back for the final test on saturday... gosh... that's 10 days away!! how will my nerves make it??? told K & NZ... tehy were ready with congrats... which made even more butterflies appear in my tummy!!
